My First Optimistic Post

Obama won! You all probably know that already. Although we will remain optimistic for at least a little while, there is doubt in the polls.
400 misprinted (or wrong...in what case) ballots were cast in, after they were sent out. People are now calling the vote fraud.
What is up with a fraud vote? We are not 100% sure that Obama is totally president, but I believe so.
Let's just hope that one time, McCain will not regret what he has done.

What is wrong with me? I was fine, and now I'm lonely. Gosh, I need people! It. Is. Not. Okay. For. Me. (especially) To. Be. Alone.

Today At School

Normally, I wouldn't mind, but today was one of my very odd and unusual spasms. I was signed up to assist at the bumper sticker table, and guess what? Hannah Jolly and Hallie Spooner (not that I have anything against them) were there. They didn't sign up, so of course I didn't know. Instead I went to an empty spot at one of the registering tables. Then I got pushed over one (up one) to the A-D table. I am scheduled to help tomorrow at lunch, so nobody'd better take the J-M table.
Going on, I was working a little at the A-D table then Drew Hillhouse, or whoever was supposed to be at the table, came later. And I was kicked out. I was actually asked to be at that table, then I was booted.
Anyway.
I just wanted to post something.
I really have nothing to post...

So Sad

I'm doing my leaderball project, for those of you who don't have an idea of what it is, it's basically a ball.
In brevity, a ball you make out of paper that has traits on it.

Anyway.

Mine is on Princess Diana. Her life was so sad. She was expected to be a boy, and no, she's not what you're thinking. She's a female, straight. But when she was born, yeah, you get the idea. I read a story about her on Yahoo when I was doing research, and still am, a little behind; the title of the story was "The Saddest Fairy Tale". I wondered why they said such a thing, but it was, it really was. Her death was devastating. She was one of the most wonderful people in the universe. She didn't come from America, she came from Britain.

I chose to do a research project on her so I could learn even more about her good, selfless, charitable acts, but also, I received the opportunity to learn even more about her life itself. How sad it was.

And why that horrible person killed her in the car accident.
Why these horrible things happen make me wonder.
What if there was no such thing as homicide? Let alone suicide?

If she had not died, the whole universe would be saved a lot of mourning. She still could have lived her life to the fullest.

But, no.

God had to take her life with some horrible thing not natural. There must have been some reason. And why, I wonder, it seems that the more terrible things happen to the good souls on Earth. I can only question.

She remains with all of us, especially in our hearts.

i know this isn't me

This isn't me, but right now, which I usually don't, I feel sad.
Lonely, and you guys ever have that feeling when your friends were just totally bluffing and not really your friends?
Ugh, I hate that feeling. But sometimes I wonder...is it real?
I don't know why people feel this way, even sometimes, and I'm not a psychlogist. But do people really want to be each other's friends? Sure, I see the occasional person with their friend from kindergarten, but I don't feel like a friend!
I was basically alone at the lunch table today, yay me, until Justine and her friends came except they just didn't have any space at their table and they weren't really talking to me.
I'll be one less tomorrow, because I'll be at the ropes course thing. I don't even know if I'll have friends to hang out with.
Trust fall? What if the people drop you? I want to, but not then.

Hm, I don't know why I'm going through this. I miss seventh grade, and I want Christmas and the summer and the long weekend to come.

Hey guys!

Before there's an outage, I'm going to post this. Very important message.
I'm forming a new club! Ms. Paris hasn't replied to me yet, and I sent her the e-mail a couple weeks ago, but I'm assuming since she's the principal, "new", and school just started, she's probably busy. Especially since she's the principal, I don't want to mess with her authority. :) Basically, I can't send her any more even though I really want to form it before I go to 9th grade and because it's just no use. If she's not replying to me now, she won't until a few months later. Besides that point, I can't send her ten e-mails a day.
Especially with that bad experience a little while ago.

So I am looking forward to making that club. So...GUYS (girls, whatever), MY FRIENDS, JOIN!
Emma, you'd be a very friendly asset. If only we had a bigger lunch table... :)

I've figured, for a long time, that most of you reading my blog have been wondering why my blog name is "The Miniature Onion".
Why?
Because someone, ahem, Sophia, who is forbidden to read The Onion, but reads the online version anyway because she says, "My mom said I couldn't read the newspaper," so much loves it.

So...since this is about news...I guess, somewhat, let's just say I had no other idea what to call my blog and forbidden came into my mind, and that led to "The Miniature Onion".

Well, I said I would add more, so I'm adding now that I have a chance.

Anyway, school started a week ago, and already on the second day of school our Spanish teacher gave us a project! Our "team" has to teach a 45-minute lesson. Every other team does too...but I mean, the class time is 50 minutes and we're supposed to provide a 45-MINUTE LESSON TO THE ENTIRE CLASS?

Especially...

With Tanner Osbourne in the class? He's going to be like, "Look, there's Hyunjin and Grace in that group. What's Moshe doing there?" He'd better not. Or I'm just going to get so frustrated. You know how it is...having Tanner in your at least three of your classes. It can drive you insane, really.

Anyway, the teachers are okay, even though they wanted supplies the next day after they told us and they wanted a notebook for every class. Which drove me crazy all around the room.

Got to go now.

OMG!

I know that's a really geeky and stupid term, but I just need to get some stress out of my system.

I don't want to sit at the computer five minutes per teacher hunting for their stupid TeacherWeb page! My goodness! Just please, if you want us to look at your pages, the link? Please?
I'm so tired from organizing and trying to find all these things! Getting notebooks organized, and finding other binders.

WEB leadership

I'm a WEB leader this year. The only year. And now I have to go to school early. I liked it, yes, being accepted, but nobody really wants to go to school during the summer and see all the preppy cliques. All getting in groups except the "normal" people. Sooo...WE HAD TO CANCEL OUR ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME TRIP (because no time ever comes back) because of the WEB thing. If you skipped this certain date, you couldn't do the WEB thing.

To tell the truth, I didn't really care about the WEB thing. But seriously, a year for WEB? I had to do it.
And cancel the trip.

Did WEB, cancelled trip. And so this whole summer went down in studying and some fun.

Kristi just got back from Taiwan! Anyway, that was just a blurb.

School is going to start! I'm so excited! I don't know why, but I have this weird butterfly feeling in my stomach like you get when you're really excited... Yes. Really excited for school. I'm not weird.
I don't know why either. But I'm really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, excited! It's usually not me to really etc. be excited for school all the time, but for some really weird reason I'm... Never mind, I'm too redundant.
Well...
I just got some new stuff for school. I already have most of the stuff because what school requires is like "pencils, pens, erasers"; it's not like I need to buy new stuff every year. But I got a folder, a couple things for my locker (for those complaining that my locker is too plain), some new pencils, just because I went shopping with a friend yesterday, some highlighters, because I need them and they were cheap, some pens (same reason), and CANDY!
Oh my gosh I love Kit Kat and Sour Patch Kids.

Yeah, those are some necessities that you just have to get when you want them. Like clothes; do you really need 1,000,000 outfits? No, but people like to have them. And you're going to live for more than 1,000,000 days, you know? Sure, you want variety, but at least you're going to have to wear one outfit at least two times (more than once) in your lifetime.

Anyway...yeah.

I had fun yesterday. I went to Lakeline (okay, fun) and Target (WOOP!!!!!). I love TARGET it's like my FAVORITE EVER store. And I went with someone that loves it too.
That's where I got stuff.
I thought I needed to get a small whiteboard for my locker door...but I might get that later when I go shopping again before school starts or something like that...
I don't know.

But eventually I'll get one before. It's going to be so awesome when nobody complains about my "plain locker".

vocab

All right guys. I was stuck with having a vocab quiz every Mon.-Fri. for a month. The "month" is almost over.

That was SAT prep, by the way.

I would give you guys some words, but it's summer. So I'll give you a break. =)

Britney Spears

You know, it really isn't me to talk about Britney, but I feel like showing my sympathy for her after I watched some videos.

This is how it started:
1. I turned on the computer to type up something.
2. I saw on the news that someone spoofed the "Leave Britney Alone" video clip to be for the presidential campaign.
3. I told someone I know, and that person played the real version.
4. Then there was Chris Crocker, and he was a man that pretended to be the person in the "Leave Britney Alone" clip.
5. He looked like a girl, so I showed that person a Derrick Barry clip.
6. He was gorgeous, and then I saw a clip that had the song Too Late to Apologize as the background music. (Although it is disgusting how pretty a guy can look. And Derrick can't dance, I'll tell you that. It's mostly because he has a guy body and he's trying to dance like a girl.)
7. It showed Britney when she was younger.
8. It was so sad because she used to be so cute and pretty.
9. I felt bad.
10. I decided to post on here, because...people need to know that she has a mental disease now. And that's not bad on her part.

I'm not crazy and I won't swear like that girl on the clip, but I feel sad. It may be just me because I have a really soft heart for people. Any kind except bad people (it's a different story if they repent).
And then well, I decided to post on here.

Britney has been a big influence on all girls everywhere. She was so popular, and she showed that any girl could do anything they wanted if they tried. She has a sister, who well, you know. What a shame! It's so bad that all people want is good things for their country and if something isn't good, libels.

The world could have precluded things like this. Instead, they wait for it to happen, and then they criticize it. What crapping good is that? None!

It's not like celebrities are preeminent. Sure, maybe they're more popular than other average civilians, but they're still human. It's even amazing how insatiable people can be. And the media is giving inordinate "coverage." Don't they have anything else to do? Something innocuous?

miley cyrus

What do you think when you hear the name Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana? At first, 15-year-old the-most-famous-ever-youngest-star-ever (almost) that has everything she wants and her own merchandise.

I always thought that, and hey, there's nothing wrong with thinking that. But now...Miley Cyrus Racy Photos being the whole headlines, you can't think of her as a young, pretty, innocent, naive pop star that stars on the Disney Channel! She changed, people, she's different! She's like Britney Spears, no offense, although Spears has a mental disease. Which, nobody that's in their right mind, can blame her for.

Miley Cyrus, at 15, I'm pretty sure has no brain defects. Just a mental defect. She's not disease-crazy, she just thinks she's all that. And fame brings to stress, which brings to all those weird photos and scandals on the Internet!

Well, whaddaya know? Miley Cyrus will go down in history, not as the sweet little pop princess that she was supposed to be, but an altered ego.

The lady Varsha Sabhnani???

They said she lost weight by starving herself to help others around the world. Almost 200 pounds! But also, very, very recently, she was sentenced to an 11-year punishment in prison. It was because she was convicted of slaving her two Indonesian maids. Both were women.

If you are easily disturbed, although this is not gory, do not read this next part in bold:

One of the maids was forced to eat dozens of peppers against her will. And when her body did not want to hold the stuff, she was forced to eat what she regurgitated.

The bad part is over.

Anyway, I cannot tell if she is good or bad. People say she is bad, some people say she is good. I cannot tell, because I have not been tailing this case. Just happened to come across it and read the article on AOL.

What do you think of these kinds of people? What do you think is fair for this woman some say is charitable, a good person, and some people say "cruelly tortured her maids"?

Personally, I would go for Obama. A little while ago, on The Onion, it showed a picture of Obama "looking into the future." He even perfected his own pose for his run for presidency! And he seems like he would be a good democrat. He's working for change.
Besides, Clinton is out of the race. She is now officially supporting Obama, and wants him to win. Briefly, they're both democrats.
McCain? He's all alone. Except for his wife and supporters, that is. If there is an other senator supporting a senator, especially if they are from the same party, and the other senator is Hilary Clinton, there's no more competition, if you get what I mean.

GOSSIP???

I was not accepted, once again, into NJHS. I actually forgot all about being accepted until I got the letter, so maybe that's why. Or maybe, just maybe, the essay wasn't good enough! Or maybe, just maybe, again, I was involved in enough community activities.
But it seems as though there was no reason for that; most of my friends are in maximum one club, and they got accepted, but I'm in one club, I get I guess good grades, and I wasn't eligible! All of my friends have American names, and I'm like the only one with an "abnormal" name. There are some exceptions that some people didn't get in, but I know there's nothing I can do about it, although I would like to do something.
Kate didn't get in, did she? She was saying something during 2nd period, but I'm not sure. I think she said that...and some other people I know didn't get in either.
Maybe 3 out of 30 people I asked didn't get in. But everybody that got in was like:

Me: Did you get into NJHS?
Other person: Yes! *grin* Did you?
Me: No...
Other person: Oh... *grin fades*

So, I think you get the idea. Well, I have to forget this. It's not supposed to bring me down; I can always get in next year. I'll just try harder next year.
But that'll be NHS...OH WELL!

And have you guys noticed how fast gossip goes around our school among popular people? It spreads like wildfire. I mean, geez, can't you guys keep your mouth shut for one second?

TAKS is over on Thursday. But we have a science benchmark on Thursday... Pooh, I end my day with a stupid benchmark; then on the last day of school I end my day with a stupid 100-QUESTION FINAL!!!!!

Oh well...I will live; before I get my grades back.

I can't WAIT until Abby's birthday party! It's going to be so fun; all I need to do is find a fitting swimming suit.

The one I have at home is too big for me, at least right now. I don't think it'll ever fit. Don't tell my sister, but I think she stretched it. When she was my age, she was kind of...big... Yeah, so I have to find a fitting one; use the little smaller one; or use the way too big one. I'm sure I'll find some way to make it all right.

Oh yeah. And I just drained a smoothie in like, 30 seconds. My mom was washing the dishes, and my smoothie-loving sister drank all of hers while I barely started. So I had to gulp mine down. If you noticed, it doesn't taste that good when you suck it; you can't cherish the richness of fruit.
